Yesterday afternoon, as the bus pulled into Hotel Las Brisas Ixtapa a very surreal feeling came across me. I was sitting beside Joni, a guest from Kyle & Alyssa’s July 21st wedding (remember the “running late Grand Entrance video”?) earlier this summer. She was the one responsible for having given Courtney & Taigan my name three months ago saying that they had to call me for their wedding. Now here I am, sitting in the most amazing of hotels in Ixtapa, Mexico.
This place is a handcrafted sculpture of beauty sitting on a nearly private bay along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The calming noise of the waves, slowly crashing onto the shore, were the perfect compliment to the atmosphere last night as I rested in my balcony hammock. I thought of the wedding couples, fellow DJs, friends and most importantly, my family, who have supported me in some way or another because of this passion of mine. A sincere thank you to each and every one of you that has provided their assistance somewhere along the way.
Work today starts at 12:00 noon when Courtney, Taigan & I meet with Chris Graham of Chris Graham Photo to work out the final timeline and survey the ceremony & reception locations. Then it’s off to search for a couple extra items that I’ll need for an activity tomorrow night and work on a few last minute details for tomorrows festivities.
We are a total of 85 guests. And if yesterdays trip down and last nights laughter was any indication, it’s going to be a fantastic party!
