Time now for a busy week catching you up on what’s been going on here! After returning home last week from my 2 day workshop, it was a quick day off with my girls and then back at it to get ready for an event Friday night and then Jon & Ashley’s wildly entertaining wedding in Brandon on Saturday night!
First, back to the weekend before that though… James & Kala’s wedding. An Irish boy and a Reston girl. After they first met that night — all those years ago as high school students — life has taken them on an incredible journey that has allowed them to prepare for anything that might come their way. Absolutely and completely in love with each other. It is a beautiful site to see.
Their Grand Entrance was performed in a unique “whose getting introduced next” format that Peter Merry, author of The Best Wedding Reception…Ever! shared with me. According to those in attendance, it was wildly entertaining and caused a lot of giggles. Let’s see… we heard about a girl with a shoe & clothing obsession (her husband REALLY loves her!), a guy with an interesting experience driving someone to pick up milk, and if you can follow this properly… we even met the guy who was always “that guy” at the high school parties when he wasn’t in high school! I had fun putting it together and making it happen that night. Thanks for taking part in the little “ribbing” we gave you Wedding Party!
The evening also included one of their favourite games, Tippy Cup! We then played Poker (thanks Bryan!) in order to send tables to the buffet line and following the dinner, toasts and welcomes everyone put their dancing shoes on. It was ready to get DOWN! After an emotionally moving first dance, the floor didn’t cool off until we wrapped up near 1:00 AM. I know that Jamie of Sterling Images Photography was able to capture these moments and I can’t wait to see them!
So after such a great night… in a room stunningly put together by Sean & Katrina of the Party Professionals, I have just one question for you. It was 12:47 AM when this photo was taken. What song do you think James, Kala and their friends were singing their hearts out to here?
