If you live in Hartney, Manitoba, it’s a pretty safe bet to say that you know who Martyn & Cassie are. They’re the FUN that arrived from the UK a number of years ago. Disappointed that there wasn’t a night club on every street, they decided to stick it out anyways. We’re sure glad they did, because they celebrated their wedding in their new small town this past weekend. Congrats again you two!
So who says that a wedding party dance has to be slow? Or even danced on your feet for that matter! This wedding dance took place ENTIRELY on the floor! Believe it or not, they didn’t leave the position you see them in here until they finished up with the song. As one of many unique parts for their day, Martyn & Cassie decided they wanted to use the song “I Don’t Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance (Oops!)” (also known as “Oops Upside Your Head”) by the Gap Band for a wedding party dance. It was surprising, unexpected and most of all, entertaining! For some that might have been the most memorable part of the day.
For others, it may have been when Cassie sang “The Best” by Tina Turner to her father Pat for their father/daughter dance. It also could have been Martyn & Cassie’s very well danced first dance to “Glad You Came” by The Wanted. Or maybe it was when the wedding party walked down the aisle at the ceremony to “No Limits” by 2 Unlimited (did I mention the dual 6 seater quads that they rode up in?!). This day had a lot of uniquely created moments throughout it — we even gave a few brains a good workout, identifying Summer Olympic Sports by their descriptions before sending up the next table to the buffet line. I almost forgot… but I quite enjoyed the Grand Entrance with introductions too!
Right up until 2:00 a.m. it was a really fun night, MC’ed by yours truly and Cassie’s globe trotting brother Jim. Thanks for the fun that is always had with photographer Thera of Thera’s Photography and ceremony officiant Pam Moffat too. Love working with you ladies!
That’s all for now everyone. Enjoy the photo and don’t forget to check for the occasional contest on my Special Request Weddings Facebook page!
